Citizen’s Database to Document Gas Well Flaring
A great deal of flaring takes place at gas production sites. Flaring releases gases and liquids which are burned off, sometimes for extended periods and often citizens are not aware.
Berks Gas Truth and Save Our Streams PA created an online citizen’s database, established to help citizens easily document flaring events.
If you know of a flaring event, please visit the link below and fill out the simple “ Gas Flaring Observations” form.
If you've just noticed that flaring has begun, it would be best to make notes of the frequency over the course of a few days before filling out this form. They would like you to add an end date when the flaring stops, but if you don't want to wait to complete the form, you can submit that information via email and they will add it to the record. :
