A Youngstown State University professor has scheduled a fall speaker series on environmental concerns of hydraulic fracturing.
Dr. Ray Beiersdorfer, geology and environmental sciences professor at YSU, will kick off the series at 7 p.m. tomorrow with a talk about local earthquakes related to hydraulic fracturing.
He will discuss the recent earthquake near the Niles, Ohio injection well, as well as information he has obtained about the earthquakes last March near a Poland, Ohio gas well.
The remaining talks will be live or video-conferenced and take place at 7 p.m. every Wednesday through Nov. 12. All of them will be in Room 2000 of YSU’s Moser Hall on Lincoln Avenue. They are free and open to the public.
For more information, contact Beiersdorfer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
